Hiking to Perchtoldsdorfer Heide + Heuriger

Original text posted on couchsurfing.org:

On Sunday it should be warm (maybe little bit rain towards the evening) so I would like to do some hiking. I would like to go to the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide. This is a very nice and special steppe-like area at the border of Vienna not typically visited by tourists and visitors (and me except for rock climbing hehe – we can try it if we pass the climbing rocks…).

Let’s meet at Hietzing at the station of the tram 60 (in front of the timetable) at 11a.. We can then go together with the tram 60 to Rodaun (still 20 minutes to go).

Bring some food and something to sit on for a picnic on the nice meadow. Afterwards (ca. 4.30 when it gets dark) we can go to a “Heuriger” in Perchtoldsdorf. (maybe bring also a Headlamp if you have one if it gets dark)

Here are the routes we can take (german):
